So who is Paloma Faith?

Well if you’ve been living under a rock since 2009, you might not know, here’s a bit of info:

With a Best Female BRIT award to her name and four top 10 double platinum albums, each one out-performing the last, she’s definitely no flash in the pan. Her latest album ‘The Architect’ reached number one, she’s starring as the evil Bet Sykes in “Pennyworth” later this year, the prequel to the highly successful ‘Gotham’ and with her 5th BRIT nomination in 2019 it looks like her popularity is only going to grow.

She came out of the popular London Neo-Soul female superstars of the mid to late naughties and is favourably compared to other similar artists Adele, Amy Winehouse, Jess Glynne and Florence + The Machine.

People know more Paloma songs than they think. Her songs have been used in loads of adverts.  In 2015 ‘Ready For The Good Life’ was used for various ad campaigns, ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ was the 2012 John Lewis ad, ‘Upside Down’ advertised the Christmas line up on the BBC, ‘Stone Cold Sober’ has been used by Rimmel and of course ‘Make Your Own Kind of Music’ was a huge hit in 2018 for Skoda. In 2019 she’s partnered with Skoda again and released the Sammy Davis Jr cover: “I Gotta Be Me”.

Ok cool, so who is Pure Paloma?

This one you probably won’t know. Pure Paloma is the alter-ego of singer Yzzy Bella, she has been working professionally since 2009 and had a similar beginning to the world of entertainment as Paloma herself. She started as a singer & stage assistant in burlesque shows honing her craft as a performer. For a years she travelled overseas working for TUI as a resident singer at beautiful 5* resorts in Mallorca, Lanzarote & Kos. Then returned to the UK as an Entertainment Manager on a fab holiday park. Since then she has been working as a singer and host for various companies and private parties and still dips back into burlesque every now and then.

Because of their similarities in look, style, vocals and personality it’s difficult to pinpoint when the tribute to Paloma actually began but here’s some key dates:

Previewed in June 2018 at Blackpool Pride
